Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Ambassador to Turkey, José Patrício, presented, this Sunday, in Tehran, the credentials to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, accrediting him as ambassador in that country, residing in Ankara.

In separate audiences with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Iranian President, the Angolan diplomat heard from those entities Iran’s firm will to develop solid cooperation relations with Angola in various areas, with emphasis on agriculture, energy, oil and gas, science and technologies.

According to a press release from the Angolan diplomatic representation in Turkey, with this regional coverage, the country positions itself in Eurasia and the Middle East among States with which mutually advantageous cooperation relations can be developed.

Ambassador José Patrício also covers the Republic of Georgia, and should soon be accredited as Angola’s representative in the Islamic Republic of Iraq.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, the 2nd largest Nation in the Middle East, is part of the Ancient Persian Empire and has a population of over 88 million inhabitants.

The country’s main resources are the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, which makes it a prominent member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) with one of the largest oil and natural gas reserves in the world.
