Africa-Press – Angola. The book “Digital Diplomacy – A solution for promoting the image of Angola”, was presented this Friday, in Luanda, by journalist António de Sousa.

The book aims to promote Angola’s potential abroad and narrates, in the first instance, the antecedents of Angolan diplomacy. It is divided into three chapters and has 109 pages.

For the author, the book will facilitate the attraction of direct investments and tourists, showing an Angola that is developing and with open doors for good people.

For António de Sousa, the book presents a challenge to young people, the media, diplomats and academics as it brings a very important contribution to the new era we are living in.

Government officials praise the work

The sales and autograph session were attended by the governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, the Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno Albinos Caldas, the Angolan ambassador to Botswana, Beatriz Morais, among other figures.

For Manuel Homem, this book is of great symbolism and will guide Angolan digital diplomacy.

The governor also highlighted that the work will inspire society in general to understand the importance of more digital governance that allows for closer ties with citizens.

In turn, the Secretary of State for Social Communication congratulated António de Sousa who was present, for four years, in the process of building the government’s institutional and digital communication in the internal and external variant.

As for the book, Nuno Caldas said that it is recommended, especially for those in diplomatic missions and students, as it contains notions and articles on digital diplomacy.

In his opinion, Angola is currently focused on the new paradigm of international relations, anchored mainly in economic diplomacy.

António de Sousa was born in Buco-Zau, Cabinda province. A journalist by profession, he joined the staff of Rádio Nacional de Angola in 1991 and worked as editor, reporter, program presenter, deputy director of Channel A, deputy director of Information and advisor to the Board of Directors.

He is co-founder of Rádio Comercial de Cabinda, reporter and news presenter at TPA in Cabinda, editor at Rádio 2000/Lubango and Rádio Huíla.

With a degree in International Relations, António de Sousa was also a correspondent for RDP-África and Voz da América in Lubango, for the BBC in London in Angola and for Rádio Khaya FM in Johannesburg and national director of Information.
