To reach the podium in the 13th edition of the event, held at the Osvaldo de Jesus Serra Van-Dúnem multipurpose pavilion, in the interior of the city of Huambo, the Ministry of the Interior team beat the Judo Elite from Luanda, disqualified due to the indiscipline of their coach.

Witnessed by the governor of the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, the third position was occupied by Génesis Clube Recreativo de Benguela.

At the end, the president of the Angolan Judo Federation, Hermenegildo dos Santos, highlighted the competitiveness of the tournament, which demonstrated the technical evolution of athletes and clubs in the country.

He recalled that the competition is also countable, for the medal-winning athletes, as the “Luanda Open”, to be held next April.

In turn, the governor of the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, considered it important for the organizers to internationalize the event, for greater prominence in the competition.

He praised the initiative of the tournament organizers, from the Angolan federation to the provincial judo association, as the Huambo Government’s prerogative is the massification of the sport.

The unified senior tournament, which opened last Friday, featured 354 athletes from 60 clubs, representing 15 provinces, with the exception of Cunene, Lunda Norte and Zaire out of the 18 in the country.
