Africa-Press – Angola. The academic, technical-professional and ideological training of the militants, so that they understand the essence of UNITA, are the main priorities of candidate number 1 for the post of general secretary of JURA, Manuel da Costa Ekuikui.

Manuel da Costa Ekuikui is running for the position of secretary general of JURA, the youth arm of the political party UNITA, with João Lucombo, whose winner will be known during the V congress of the organisation, to be held from 15 to 17 March in Luanda, under the motto “JURA- innovate and mobilize to win”.

The number 1 candidate on the ballot paper, who was speaking during the presentation, Saturday in Huambo, of the lines of force, promised, in case of triumph, to work on the affirmation of JURA in society, with a commitment to the training of militants, in order to become one of the main drivers of the process of building a better future for all Angolans, particularly young people.

On the ideological side, he said that, despite the fact that it is important for young people to be part of party-political organizations, they need, above all, to understand the essence of the parties, “to avoid frustrations and acts of rebellion against them, when their intentions personal are not reached”.

He said he was defining a more active JURA capable of promoting a good political environment in society, based on dialogue and respect for ideological differences.

In addition to Huambo, Manuel da Costa Ekuikui also presented the guidelines for the provinces of Bié, Cuando Cubango and Uige.

JURA was founded on July 18, 1974, by David Janotão, who was its first president.
