Africa-Press – Angola. The lack of goals was pointed out yesterday by Petro de Luanda’s coach, Alexandre Santos, as the main reason for the defeat against Wydad of Morocco (0-2), in a match for the fourth round of the African Champions League.
Speaking at a press conference at the 11 de Novembro stadium, he explained that the group did everything to win, but that the numerous failures of the opportunities created did not allow this to happen.
He referred that the statistics give the hosts an advantage in terms of possession of the ball and shots on goal, adding that, in his opinion, the result of the game would be different if the flagrant actions ended in goals.
In turn, coach Garrido Juan Carlos said he managed to stop Petro with a defensive block, but that it was the counterattack moves that determined the triumph.
He added that the result constitutes an important step towards the objective of revalidating the title.
Thus, Petro is third in the group, with four points, while Wydad from Morocco is the leader, with nine.
