Africa-Press – Angola. The head of the main directorate of Troop Preparation and Education of the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Samuel Zinga Emília, considered, Wednesday, military training as one of the main supports of defense structures national.
The military official was speaking at the opening of the General Staff Preparatory School (FAA), which takes place at the “Heróis de Kangamba” Army Troop Training Center, in the municipality of Chicala-Cholohanga, Huambo province.
On the occasion, Lieutenant General Samuel Zinga Emília stated that military education constitutes one of the fundamental pillars for supporting the country’s defense structures, taking into account the upcoming recruitment.
He said that initial training courses prepare citizens for entry into the different categories of the FAA, as, during this period, they take on another important function, which allows, in a first phase, the integration of new military personnel into the military community.
He informed that the Cadres Preparatory School, taking place over 10 days, will be marked with debates, conferences and open classes on individual combat techniques, military physical preparation, military engineering and fortifications, moral and civic education, military regulations and weapons and shooting.
It includes, he added, demonstrative classes on military topography, general technique, health, hygiene, first aid, united order and agriculture.
Lieutenant General Samuel Zinga Emília explained that the Escola Preparatória de Quadros marks the resumption of raising the methodological and pedagogical levels of instructors, monitors and commanders of instructional subunits, in reflecting on the forms and methods of direction, organization, planning, execution, controlling and improving the quality of basic military instruction for recruits entering the FAA.
Therefore, he called for greater responsibility and engagement in rescuing the values of patriotism among the troops, with a view to promoting their respect among the population and authorities, as well as for the harmonious management of the technical means made available, in addition to carrying out campaigns of civic education for staff, as a way of making them exemplary citizens worthy of the community’s trust.
The event, whose opening was attended by the head of the Army’s Instruction and Teaching Directorate, Lieutenant General Simão Carlitos Wala, and the second commander of the Central Military Region, Brigadier Sapalo Baptista, takes place under the motto “To raise the quality of basic instruction, let us hold the preparatory school for cadres”.
“Heroes of Kangamba” Center
Located 24 kilometers east of the Central Military Region Command Post, in the Santo António neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo, the “Heróis de Kangamba” Army Troop Training Center began the first General Military Preparation Courses in January 1999, in the municipality of Cahama, province of Cunene.
In 2007, it was transferred to the Central Military Region, specifically in the province of Huambo, as a result of the vision and strategy of the FAA Higher Command, with the inauguration held on December 14, 2011.
Since its creation to date, the center has promoted 24 different courses, with a total of 24,385 military personnel trained, namely in the areas of Basic Military Instruction (18,194), Hunter Training (1,530), Ex-military personnel from the UNITA (786), Operational Military Instruction (353), Military Police (400) and Public Order Police (three thousand 599).
