Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-governor of Bié for the technical area and infrastructures, Edgar Hilário, in the city of Cuito, encouraged the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) to continue with the restructuring process, in the face of new challenges.
The vice-governor was speaking at the provincial event that marked the celebrations of the 32nd anniversary of the FAA, marked this Monday, under the motto Angolan Armed Forces in Guaranteeing Peace and National Stability.
For Edgar Hilário, the restructuring process has contributed to better management of the material, technical, logistical and financial resources available in military units.
He made it known that the purpose of this process is to promote better living and working conditions for officers, sergeants, enlisted men, soldiers, as well as civilian workers.
He also urged to continue with the rejuvenation of troops and equipment, with the aim of providing greater operational and combat capacity to the military.
He highlighted the involvement of the military in the demining process, in the construction of bridges, in helping populations victims of natural calamities, in searches and rescues, among other actions.
He also highlighted the great contribution that the FAA has made in peace support operations, complying with the protocols of the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU) and regional economic organizations (SADC, CEEAC and ECOWAS).
