Lobito Corridor sets the tone for the II Business and Connectivity Forum

Africa-Press – Angola. The second edition of the Business and Connectivity Forum, an initiative of the Media Nova Group, will take place between the 16th and 17th of June, in Benguela, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the business world, under the motto “Corridor from Lobito”.

Taking place at the Colina Resort hotel complex, in the municipality of Catumbela, the event aims to promote dialogue between various businessmen, entrepreneurs, investors and producers in Angola.

The aim is to explore profitable business opportunities in the national and continental markets.

In a press conference, held this Wednesday, Ladislau Silva, the spokesperson for the event, advanced that the expectation is that delegates from associations and trade attachés from some neighboring countries will participate.

Until the 10th of June, the date on which the moratorium period for registrations ended, businessmen from these landlocked countries – Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia, had not confirmed their presence at the second edition of the Business and Connectivity Forum.

However, Ladislau Silva considers the Business and Connectivity Forum a place to share these experiences, in order to offer an essential platform for participants to present, debate and share new ideas, projects, strategies, technologies, production, sales and logistics. .

Furthermore, he stressed that the forum will provide a working environment for participants to establish new partnerships and will provide a clear perspective on what is most modern and innovative in the business world.

More than protocols of intention, the spokesperson states that the important thing is to do business and do it now, not least because the programming of this event is focused on the needs and interests of entrepreneurs and producers, as well as the exploration of possibilities and benefits of the Lobito Corridor.

It is within this framework that the agenda includes lectures on themes about the sectors of the fishing industry, its potential, attracting investments, the Lobito refinery, the blue economy, tourism, banking and insurance, telecommunications, among others aimed at the business segment.

On the other hand, he made known that the event will also have the participation of 17 young Angolan entrepreneurs from different provinces of the country in order to get to know the business world and exchange experiences in the area of attracting investments.

Empower entrepreneurs to the Free Trade Zone

For Joaquim Dombaxi, executive director of the Business and Connectivity Forum, this second edition will be marked by the absence of businessmen from countries that have a direct connection and that can take advantage of the benefits of the Lobito Corridor.

Thus, he guarantees that the forum will be more national to demonstrate the internal potentialities, not least because the objective is also to capitalize the Angolans so that they have the necessary contributions to face the degree of competitiveness of the entrepreneurs of other countries, when the executive application of the Zone begins Free Trade Agreement (FTZ).

Joaquim Dombaxi reinforces this idea, adding that the intention is to make Angolan businessmen capitalize and fortify themselves, so that they can enter this period of competitiveness with businessmen from this area of the entire African continent.

“We need to create the bases and we are doing it from a commercial point of view so that these entrepreneurs have the conditions to enter”, he concluded.

The main infrastructures of the Lobito Corridor are the Benguela Railway and the Port of Lobito.
