Luanda governor says that literacy is the guarantor of the country's development

Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Luanda, Ana Paula de Carvalho, considers literacy to guarantee the possibility of the country’s development, as it helps in the emancipation of the individual, making him autonomous and expanding his access to culture through reading and a better understanding of the social phenomena.

“The learning process is directly related to the development of the individual”, he said, in addition to informing that the Provincial Government of Luanda has been committed to the implementation of educational policies, to help in the recovery of the school delay of young people and adults, through programs literacy and post-literacy.

“The fight against illiteracy is a commitment and this year, in which the centenary of Agostinho Neto is celebrated, we will also celebrate the 46th anniversary of the literacy process”, he stressed.

The governor reiterated that the Government of Luanda embraced the implementation of the Action Plan for the Intensification of Literacy and Post-Literacy and Education of Youth and Adults, in order to help in the materialization of the Executive’s policies and strategies.
