Luanda: School managers are highlighted

Africa-Press – Angola. The director of the Luanda Provincial Education Office highlighted this Tuesday, in the capital, the arduous mission and efforts of school managers, who do everything to create better working conditions.

Philomene Marie Carlos defended, during the provincial act of the National Educator’s Day, greater compliance with the pedagogical programs defined for the sector. “Education is the door and the key to shaping children, for that reason, we are aware of the paths we must take, in order to have the desired quality”, and obtain results that place them alongside African nations, with well-deserved academic recognition.

A word of appreciation, he said, should be given to administrative staff of different categories, from cleaning assistants to school self-protection agents, who are also educators. “Everything is being done so that school security agents have their own status and thus better dignity”.

The administrator of Cazenga, Tomás Bica, considered the date memorable for all teachers and educators. “Teachers are agents of change and transformation of collective consciousness”.

The date

On November 22, 1977, the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, declared the literacy campaign open at the Textang II factory in Luanda, and it went down in the country’s history as a date dedicated to the Teacher. In 1978, the act was institutionalized as National Educator’s Day.
