Africa-Press – Angola. The third anniversary of the Lubango Court of Appeal was marked Monday, with the launch of the institution’s website, with the aim of facilitating access to judicial information in real time for users.
On the website www.trlubango.ao it is possible to find, in real time, information about the procedural activities and decisions of the different chambers, the plenary and the acts carried out by the president of the court in just a few clicks.
When speaking at the launch of the website, the presiding judge of the Lubango Court of Appeal, Armando do Amaral Gourgel, informed that the action constitutes a significant milestone in the constant search for excellence and transparency in the administration of justice.
He said it represents the completion of a project that involved “tireless efforts”, application of the best systems development practices around the world and which was created by a company based in Lubango.
He highlighted that the institution’s vision for the website is clear, to create an accessible, intuitive and robust platform that meets the needs of all those seeking information about the institution’s procedural activity, the jurisprudence that guides the court’s decisions.
He highlighted that throughout the development process, they are committed to adopting global best practices in software systems development , which means that the system was created with high security standards, ensuring a reliable experience for users.
He mentioned that the service provides information on the procedural activities of the court of relationship and the jurisprudence was organized in a clear and efficient way, and to this end they simplified the structure and organization of the information so that the task of finding and viewing rulings, conference tables and judgments is easier and faster.
Armando do Amaral Gourgel said that the institution’s response capacity is being given at the right time, as they have 13 effective judges, out of the 17 planned, and even though numbers have not been advanced, he said that the processes received are satisfactory and Huíla is still the largest has terms of process numbers.
The judge took stock of this third year of the Lubango Court of Appeal, which takes place under the motto “ Web – access through speedy appeals justice”.
The president of the Provincial Council of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA) in Huíla, Henriques Ernesto, highlighted that the website is opportune, a condition that will make life easier for lawyers, citizens, students and legal professionals in a general, as it is a way of getting to know the court.
He detailed that this knowledge takes place through the rulings that will be published, a system that will facilitate lawyers in accessing the institution, in the procedural activity of the court and in achieving faster justice to materialize the principle of effective judicial protection.
The event was attended by the governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi, as well as the retired judge advisor from the Court of Justice of Portugal, Simas Santos, who gave a conference on “Appeals in criminal matters (timing, form and grounds).
The Lubango Court of Appeal was inaugurated on October 9, 2020, but began operating in November 2021, to speed up the processing of appeal judicial processes, previously sent to the Supreme Court, in Luanda.
It was the first structure of its kind to be inaugurated in the country and had its presiding judge elected in March 2021. The Court serves the provinces of Huíla, Namibe, Cunene and Cuando-Cubango, which make up the 4th Judicial Region.
