Malian Cycling Federation Congratulates Angola'S 50Th

Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Mali Cycling Federation, Sidy Bagayoko, congratulated Angolans this Wednesday in Moçâmedes, Namibe, on the celebration of the 50th anniversary of National Independence, to be marked on November 11th.

In statements, on the sidelines of the IV edition of the “Volta a Angola`2025”, he said that Angolans should celebrate the date with great joy and a spirit of national unity, especially athletes.

He stated that the date marks a historically important moment for Angolans, and cyclists, in particular, should be proud of their country.

“I am happy here in Angola and in Namibe in particular, with a very welcoming and affectionate people, where their culture and tourist attractions demonstrate everything they are experiencing at this moment, their National Independence,” he emphasized.In this edition of the event, which honors Alberto da Silva Pepino, an icon of national cycling (in memoriam), Mali is represented by four athletes.

In total, 176 cyclists, 27 teams and 14 countries are participating in the race, including 3 European countries.

On Thursday, the competition starts with a 4 km course near the airport, while Friday’s course is 87 km between Caraculo and Tundavala, Huíla province.
