Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, held a courtesy meeting this Monday with the provincial secretary of UNITA, Adriano Sapiñala, with whom he discussed issues related to the management of the Angolan capital.

At the end of the meeting, which lasted about 30 minutes, Adriano Sapiñala declared that the governor of Luanda can expect from UNITA some institutional solidarity and collaboration.

“UNITA is a party with a parliamentary seat and, therefore, a partner of the government in terms of action”, promising to contribute to issues related to the well-being of the citizens of Luanda.

He said he had the approval of the Provincial Governor so that, whenever possible, he could present his organization’s concerns.

Sapiñala declared that despite the differences in party action, there is convergence in the pursuit of citizens’ well-being, in some cases presenting solutions.

Since taking over as Governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem has been committed to solving the problem of basic sanitation, reorganizing informal trade, combating criminality, among other issues of interest to the communities.

With approximately seven million inhabitants, Luanda is still faced with deficiencies in the supply of energy and water, urban mobility, public transport, health and education, among other difficulties that are being resolved within the framework of the Intergrado Program for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and of the Public Investment Program (PIP).

Adriano Sapiñala has held similar positions in Cuando Cubango and Benguela.
