Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan plastic artist Márcia Dias won the silver medal at the international Artcom expo contest, which took place from Tuesday to yesterday, in Dubai.
Márcia Dias presented the work “Peace Ukraine”, in the Surrealist category. The 60×70 cm oil painting conveys a message of appeal for peace.
With the participation of artists from several countries, the first place, with a gold medal, went to the competitor from Dubai, while the bronze went to Luxembourg.
Márcia Dias expressed her satisfaction at the recognition of her work across borders and thanked the support of Angola and the Óscar Ribas Foundation, which allowed her to participate in yet another cultural activity.
In 2019, she was the winner of the Art Index Dubai contest, having received the gold medal with the work Mumuila (80×80 dimension), oil on canvas.
The contest, held every two years, aims to classify the best plastic artists in the world.
Based in Portugal for 22 years, after having lived for some time in Sweden, Márcia Dias left Angola when she finished high school, having already presented works in several European cities, such as Barcelona and Paris (France), at the Louvre Museum.
