Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Cabinda has been carrying out an intense political activity since 12 April in the interior of the province, with the aim of mobilizing the population, with a view to the general elections next August.
Marcos Nhunga leads a team of leaders and activists from the party’s Provincial Committee and will stay in the interior for nine days, three in each municipality (Cacongo, Buco-Zau and Belize), with the same purpose of convincing the electorate in the most remote areas of the region, supported by the various achievements that the local government has implemented to improve the living conditions of the populations.
The party leader’s journey began in the northernmost municipality of the country (Belize) and, as soon as he arrived, he began with the “door-to-door” campaign in the villages of Caio Guembo, Bulo, Quissonqui, Zala de Cima and de Baixo, with the aim of not only mobilizing the electorate, but also understanding the main social difficulties and attracting young people to the ranks of the MPLA.
To justify the mobilization arguments, Marcos Nhunga highlighted the sectors of Health, Education, Energy, Water, Housing, Transport, Vocational Training for young people, employment promotion, Agriculture and Maritime Transport, considering them the main areas invested by the Government and have deserved more attention from the authorities.
The politician highlighted the Cabinda General Hospital and the Passenger Maritime Terminal, recently inaugurated by President João Lourenço, as two major infrastructures that will provide the population with quality medical care and will no longer put lives at risk when traveling in safety.
