Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy coordinator of the MPLA Political Bureau monitoring group in Zaire province, Mankento Lopes, appealed, in the municipality of Tomboco, to the militants and population to vote for his party in the next general elections.

Mankento Lopes, who was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Second Extraordinary Meeting of the Provincial Committee of the comrades’ party in Zaire, said that the MPLA intends to increase, in the region, another 20 percent of the results obtained in the 2017 general elections.

“In the last elections, the MPLA, in the province of Zaire, obtained 61 percent. Therefore, we intend to achieve, in these elections, 81 percent of the results, the other parties share what is left”, stressed Mankento Lopes.

The politician defended, during the event held over the weekend, that, in order to obtain the 81 percent, each of the militants must mobilize one more citizen to vote in favor of the MPLA, “and the time to work for that effect has arrived”.

“MPLA militants in Zaire have the responsibility of mobilizing the voting population in favor of the party”, warned Mankento Lopes.

Pedro Makita Júlia, as the first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Zaire, reinforced the idea of the militants to prepare for victory in the general elections next August. “The members of the provincial, municipal and communal committees, as well as the action committees and their respective militants, friends and sympathizers, must commit themselves to victory in the August elections”, he underlined.

The MPLA’s first provincial secretary in Zaire province, Pedro Makita, warned of the preservation of peace and the observance of mutual respect, so that the country evolves and reaches the levels of development.

“The MPLA is the party that works to guarantee peace for the country’s development”, he concluded.
