Africa-Press – Angola. The Delegation of the Ministry of the Interior in Huambo reaffirmed, this Friday, the commitment to “do everything” to improve, in the shortest possible time, the well-being of those assisted by the Caixa de Protecção Social.
The fact was stated by the director of the Migration and Foreigners Service, migration commissioner Hermenegildo Lincachi, who was speaking on behalf of the local delegate for the Interior, at the opening ceremony of the days alluding to the 15th anniversary of the Social Protection Fund of this Ministerial Department.
According to the official, the local Delegation will work towards resolving, as soon as possible, the problems that afflict those assisted, both pensioners and the relatives of the deceased, as part of the objective of creating the Caixa de Protecção Social.
Migration Commissioner Hermenegildo Lincachi said that since the creation of the body, several problems, albeit gradually, have been resolved, with a view to improving the social conditions of pensioners.
Therefore, he said that the Caixa de Protecção Social should continue to work with the available resources to live up to its mission of guaranteeing the survival of colleagues and family members, with dedication, resilience and professionalism.
“There are still people who complain about the work of some Caixa de Protecção Social staff, hence the appeal for the continuous exercise of the activity, tirelessly, as the care of those assisted is a moral obligation, in addition to each of us being a potential pensioners or families, based on the principle that it is enough to live to die”, he said.
In the province of Huambo, the Social Protection Fund of the Ministry of the Interior controls, according to recently released data, 932 pensioners, 426 of whom are retired and 506 are survivors.
The Caixa de Protecção Social do MININT is a body in charge of managing the social protection system of the staff in special regime of career of the bodies of MININT whose main objective is the payment of retirement pension, survivor pension and death subsidy of the beneficiaries.
According to Presidential Decree 65/14, of March 14, which regulates the functioning of the MININT Social Protection Fund, for the acquisition of the right to Retirement Pension, staff must make a regular contribution for 180 months (15 years), provide 30 years of service or reach 55 years of age.
