Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor Fernandes, announced in Huambo that the elaboration of a strategic plan for financing the infrastructure process of the existing industrial poles in the country is underway.

Throughout the country, 19 industrial centers are controlled, some of which have a large number of factories already installed and in operation, while the others have few or even none due to numerous infrastructure difficulties, such as the poor state of access roads. , lack of energy and water.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce, who announced the fact to the press, during the workday carried out, last Saturday, in Huambo province, added that the Ministerial Department is working with the Ministry of Finance, in concluding the financing plan, in terms of modalities and forms.

Without revealing the deadline, he said that it will be completed and approved soon, with the aim of creating objective conditions for the better functioning of the country’s industrial poles, as they constitute sector development strategies.

Victor Fernandes referred that in a first phase the poles of Viana (Luanda), Catombela (Benguela) and Futi (Cabinda) will be funded, as they have many manufacturing units already in operation.

As for the others that, still, do not have so much activity, as the case of the Industrial Development Pole of Caála, province of Huambo, he said that first the restructuring process of their projects will be developed, in consultation with the governments of the provinces where they are located. .

Speaking particularly of the Caála pole, he made it known that the challenge of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is to make it an industrial development zone for all the production of raw materials that can be industrialized in the province of Huambo.

Therefore, he referred that there will be joint work between the ministries of Agriculture and Forestry, Industry and Commerce and the Government of Huambo to identify step by step what the pole should follow to become a determining factor for development.

“We are going to review the current plan together and approve a strategy that we can, effectively, follow, because it is in a province with agricultural potential and with high levels of productivity that should serve as raw material for the industrial pole”, he said.

Still on the infrastructure plan, he explained that it will consist, in addition to the streets, in the installation of an energy and water system up to the requirements of industrial undertakings, garbage collection, as well as other services essential to its operation.
