Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, confirmed this Thursday, in Caxito (Bengo), the works of the “José Sayovo” Sports Complex, expressing his satisfaction with the level of execution at 52 percent.
It is beyond what was foreseen at this time, the government official told the press, at the end of an inspection visit to the sports infrastructure.
According to the minister, he liked what he saw, not only the quality of the product that is being made in favor of sport, but also the means that are being used.
“We are all working to complete the project by September 2025. At this moment we are able to coordinate the actions so that each party fulfills its responsibility for the inauguration before the 11th of November of that year”, he highlighted.
The provincial government asked it to take care of some issues so that it can expand the project in the future.
The Sayovo complex, according to the official, will be used for national teams, bringing many benefits to young people, the best Paralympic athletes and other sports.
Budgeted at around 70 million dollars, the complex will serve Paralympic and Olympic athletes, from the perspective of social inclusion.
The infrastructure includes an 11-a-side football pitch, with an athletics track, a multi-sports pavilion for futsal, handball, basketball, volleyball and roller hockey.
It has a social and administrative area that includes a residential area for 250 athletes, a leisure area, a cafeteria and a kitchen.
