Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of National Defense and Veterans of the Fatherland defended Friday, in Luanda, that the social conditions that are given to the survivors of the 4th of February should be the same for all Angolans who fought or not for the country’s Independence.

João Ernesto dos Santos, who was speaking at the event alluding to the commemorations of the 4th of February, in Luanda province, said that, regardless of whether the citizen is a participant in the process of the beginning of the armed struggle, the Executive must treat everyone as Angolans.

The act alluding to the commemorations of the 4th of February in Luanda was marked by the hoisting of the Republic’s flag at the National Museum of Military History and the laying of a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument, by the Minister of National Defense and Veterans of the Homeland.

After paying tribute to the citizens who died in the struggle for National Independence, territorial integrity, peace and reconciliation, the official suggested holding training seminars and interaction talks in the country between the old and the new generation, as a way of transmitting to young people the historical significance of the 4th of February and other “important dates”.
