Minister highlights Angola's experience in conflict resolution

Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, João Ernesto Dos Santos “Liberdade”, stated this Thursday that Angola is currently the turning point of African politics, as a result of its experience in resolving conflicts.

The governor made this statement during the central event in reference to the Day of the martyrs of the colonial reprimand, highlighting that Angola’s experience in this field has attracted important regional and continental forums in the territory, with the aim of finding solutions for peace in several African states and beyond.

Therefore, he appealed to Angolan youth to preserve peace, unity and national reconciliation, determining factors for the country’s socioeconomic development.

On the other hand, he said that January 4 marked the turning point in the history of Angola, towards national independence and effective peace, opening new hopes for the Angolan people.

“The revolt in downtown Cassanje was a laboratory where the formulas that were the basis for the expulsion of colonialism from the country’s soil and, therefore, the Angolan youth were constructed, without political-partisan, religious, racial and/or sex discrimination. , must proudly follow the example of the heroes, so that together we can walk the path of development”, he stressed.

He reiterated the Executive’s commitment to improving the living conditions of Angolans, promoting actions aimed at diversifying the economy, social justice and productive inclusion.

“Remember the 4th of January and talk about the efforts that the Angolan Executive has made in the hope of reversing the economic situation we are experiencing, with incentives for national production, with a view to reducing strong external dependence and increasing the capacity to produce locally” , he said.

In this area, the province of Lunda Norte in general and the town of Xá-muteba in particular, was in the recent past one of the major producers of corn, tomatoes, beans, butter and other local products and contributed to food self-sufficiency in the country.

“I encourage peasants to roll up their sleeves to reactivate family farming and return to producing these goods that are so desperately needed on our table, with the help of the agricultural inputs that the Executive has made available,” he said.
