Minister is satisfied with the infrastructure

Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women (MASFAMU), Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, expressed satisfaction with the construction of several social infrastructures in the province of Zaire, within the scope of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP), with a positive impact on the lives of the region’s inhabitants.

Speaking, Monday, on the first day of the three-day working visit to the province of Zaire, to evaluate the actions implemented, in 2022, within the scope of the PIDLCP, with the aim of guaranteeing the well-being of the inhabitants of different rural communities , the governor said that, from now on, hundreds of children who were still studying in inappropriate conditions will be able to attend their own, well-equipped schools.

“We made the visits and found that the local technical unit was carrying out rehabilitation and expansion works on various social infrastructures, as well as the construction of new ones, namely schools and health centers, including residences for technicians, bridges and boreholes of water. Once completed, users will, from now on, be better served here in the province”, he said.

In the municipality of Nóqui, specifically in the commune of Mpala, where a seven-room school was built, despite there still being fencing work to be carried out, according to Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, it can be delivered and begin to benefit the students .

“We are in the commune of Mpala, in the municipality of Nóqui, to see the ground work of a school that the local technical unit built and we see that it is in a condition to be used, despite, we still have some works that have the to do only with the fence to protect the school itself”, stressed the minister.

In addition to the fence that must be built, the construction project also includes a sports court for activities related to physical education and play for children, which is scheduled to open today. “As for the equipment of the school in Sumpi (Mbanza Kongo), when the children were transferred to make way for their rehabilitation, they had taken their desks. Now they just have to bring them back and study in their own conditions”, stressed the minister.

Regarding the lack of electricity in the town of Dobo, Luvo commune (Mbanza Kongo), where the health post, now rehabilitated, assists patients using flashlights, the minister promised to find a solution, through solar panels to improve conditions services provided there and safeguard people’s dignity.

“We will see with the local technical unit, because it is possible to find a way to have energy locally, based on solar panels. Something we must do so that patients do not have to carry flashlights and other means to be consulted. Yes, really , a situation that is not very good when it comes to health”, he admitted.

Regarding the application of the program’s funds, the minister was satisfied, taking into account the quality of the actions that are being implemented: “The mission is to evaluate what was done with the 2022 funds and monitor it in 2023 As you can see, a project like this in the town of Lufunde (Nóqui) says it all. The most important thing is to serve the target population and the municipality of Nóqui is doing what needs to be done”.

For his part, the governor of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, stressed that the province has a lot to do in terms of infrastructure, taking into account the extension, so more projects are expected.

“The province is large, there are a series of works. In addition to these, we have others in Soyo, in Mbanza Kongo, in Kuimba. It’s like everything. There is much more to be done. The population expects more and more from us and we will have to do. Therefore, we want to believe that we will have the reinforcement of more works”, concluded the governor.
