Africa-Press – Angola. Luanda – Angolan Health minister Sílvia Lutucuta on Thursday visited 46 patients under medical board facility in Pretoria, South Africa, aiming to learn about their concerns, press through a press release from the Angolan embassy in that country.

The visit took place during a stopover on her return trip to Luanda from Eswatini, where she participated in a health sector meeting.

Sílvia Lutucuta took the opportunity to assess the performance of the Ministry of Health, along with the diplomatic mission, and on that occasion expressed her happiness considering what she saw, stating that, with the strong and continuous support of the Ministry of Finance, the treatments will continue.

However, she reiterated that the health sector of the Angolan Embassy in South Africa will be the only one the country will have operational from March of the current year.

The government official clarified that the beneficiaries of the medical board assistance are those whose treatment is beyond the country’s capabilities, with an estimated fifty people requiring ongoing treatment being transferred from Portugal to South Africa due to the closure of Angola’s medical boards in that country.
