Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of public works, urbanism and housing, Carlos dos Santos, has been to Dundo, Lunda Norte province, since the beginning of this Thursday morning, to find out about the levels of progression of some ravines, with emphasis on the the centrality of Mussungue, which threatens to destroy some buildings.
The minister’s visit, aims, together with the local government, to find urgent solutions, to stop the level of progression of the ravine in the centrality of Mussungue and prevent it from affecting the buildings in zone 1.
Press learned from the Civil Protection and Fire Service that the said ravine is 15 meters from two buildings, where around 800 people live, in 16 apartments.
It is part of 30 ravines cataloged by the State, which should be closed in 2023.
During his stay in Lunda Norte, the minister will visit the ravines of Kamaquenzo airport, Mussungue and Dundo river.
Data from the Civil Protection and Fire Service indicate that Lunda Norte has registered more than 100 ravines, of which 30 are emergency.
