Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, pointed out, this Saturday, and, Saurimo, Lunda Sul, the growth of infrastructure and professionals in the health sector as gains resulting from freedom .

The governor, who was speaking at the central event of the 48th anniversary of national independence, stated that, as a result of improved housing and health conditions, there was an increase in average life expectancy and access to primary care, as well as a reduction mortality of children under five years of age.

He made it known that the National Health Service currently has three thousand 325 health units, currently totaling 37 thousand 808 beds, compared to the 13 thousand 426 recorded until 2017.

Adão de Almeida pointed out the entry, in the last five years, of 41,903 health professionals and the construction of general hospitals in Caxito, Saurimo, Bié, Cabinda, among other units, as well as the opening, soon, of hospitals in Sumbe, Ondjiva, Ndalatando, Viana, Cacuaco, Pedalé and Luau.

For the minister, there is a need to continue investing in the improvement of social infrastructures, for the harmonious development of the national territory, as well as making the economy increasingly competitive, through the construction and reconstruction of roads for the connectivity of different regions.

Therefore, he highlighted those underway on several national roads, in the North and East of the country, with the rehabilitation of EN 230, Malanje/Saurimo, Saurimo/Dala section, Lucapa/Saurimo bypass, Luau/Marco 25/Cazombo, Sanza Pombo /Mbuengas, Lucossa/Mbalapala/Nóqui, Nzeto/Soyo, as well as 255 kilometers of EN 100, in Cabinda.

The government official also highlighted the inauguration, on Friday, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 48th anniversary of national independence, of the Dr António Agostinho Neto international airport.

He highlighted that the size, quality and strategic importance of this infrastructure for the country constitutes proof of the ability to make patriotic commitment an inspiration to continue building a new Angola.

Energy

In this chapter, the government official said that the country is making its contribution, investing in an energy matrix, which is currently 63.6 percent, made up of environmentally friendly energy, totaling 6,283 megawatts.

He reaffirmed the commitment to more investments in the construction of transport lines, for the complete interconnection of the national electrical system, with emphasis on the Malanje/Xá Muteba/Saurimo and Dundo/Lucapa/Saurimo transport lines.

He explained that the east of the country will have even more clean energy, with the completion of the Saurimo, Lucapa and Luena solar parks, already under construction, as well as the electrification projects for the remaining municipal and communal headquarters in the provinces of Lunda Sul, Lunda Norte and Moxico.

Laying of wreaths on the bust of António Agostinho Neto and inaugurations of various infrastructures marked the celebrations of dipanda’s 48th anniversary.
