Minister of Territorial Administration confirms works in Lucapa

Africa-Press – Angola. In pursuit of his agenda in the province of Lunda-Norte, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Dionisio da Fonseca, works this Tuesday, in the municipality of Lucapa, 150 kilometers from Dundo, where he will learn about the level of physical execution and financial aspects of the municipal administrative complex.

The municipal administrative building began to be built in 2022, within the scope of the Integrated Intervention Plan for Municipalities (PIIM), and in the following year (2023) the works were paralyzed due to financial constraints.

Budgeted at 322 million kwanzas, the infrastructure is built on an area of 835 square meters and will include, among other areas inherent to municipal administrative activity, a technical building, parking lot and rooms for municipal meetings.

On the first day of work in the province of Lunda-Norte, Dionísio da Fonseca visited the works of the residential and municipal complexes of Caungula, Lóvua and Cambulo, where he was informed that the works had been stopped, also for financial reasons.

The minister promised at the time to work with the PIIM project monitoring committee to overcome financial constraints and resume works as quickly as possible.

77 municipal infrastructures are under construction in the country, including residential and administrative complexes and assemblies, of which four are already completed and the rest with a degree of physical execution above 50 percent.

In the first phase, priority was given to type D and C municipalities, which are the most remote and have the lowest infrastructure supply for the functioning of the State’s local administration bodies.

Overall, the province of Lunda-Norte has a portfolio of 108 projects, of which 52 have already been completed.

The agenda of the Minister of Territorial Administration reserves for the end of the afternoon this Tuesday, a meeting with the members of the Community Hearing Council, to analyze the state of implementation or use of infrastructure land that was transferred from the extinct IGCI to the provincial government.
