Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, requested, this Saturday, in Luanda, greater involvement of families and society in the protection of children’s rights.
The minister was speaking to the press at the “Christmas Solidarity” event promoted by the sector for over a thousand children in vulnerable situations, in the commune of Cabo-Ledo, municipality of Quiçama.
Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto stressed that the child must be an absolute priority and deserve special attention from society as a whole.
According to the minister, the community must be committed to protecting children, denouncing all types of situations that violate the right of the child, from flight to parenthood, domestic violence, exploitation of minors, among others.
“Many parents and guardians do not take care of the children and run away from their responsibilities and many of them try to take advantage of minors in various ways”, he stressed.
He appealed for unity, solidarity and voluntarism of all to guarantee the protection and rights of children.
The minister defended the promotion and implementation, by society, of actions for the benefit of children, such as recreational gatherings, as they deserve to receive affection, protection and attention from adults.
