Africa-Press – Angola. A campaign to prevent and combat malaria was developed, this Friday, by the Communal Administration of Forte Santa Rita, municipality of Moçâmedes (Namibe).
The campaign involved lectures and door-to-door awareness raising, in order to mobilize citizens to comply with measures to combat the disease.
The initiative included health technicians who delivered messages about basic sanitation, water and food treatment and the correct use of mosquito nets.
The campaign was attended by the local administrator, Júlia Morais, and involved the elimination of areas of waste, in order to reduce the risk of disease contamination and leave an organized and waste-free environment.
The province of Namibe has recorded more than ten thousand cases of malaria, with 20 deaths, since January of this year.
