More than 100 thousand citizens will benefit from free civil registration in Uíge

Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and 13 thousand citizens began, this Monday, in the main municipality of the province of Uíge, to benefit from free birth registration and identity cards, as part of the campaign to promote civil registration and the attribution of identity cards.

An initiative of the Municipal Administration of Uíge in partnership with the Provincial Delegation for Justice and Human Rights, the campaign will last nine months and will cover 12 areas in the peripheral neighborhoods of the city of Uíge and 83 villages in the same location.

When speaking at the opening of the campaign, the Provincial Delegate for Justice and Human Rights in office in Uíge, Lucas Alberto Guido, said that, of the total number of beneficiaries, 70 thousand citizens will benefit from civil registration and 43 thousand from an identity card.

He clarified that the campaign has three mobile brigades, made up of 38 brigades, who will be in rural and urban areas of the municipality of Uíge.

In turn, the Municipal Administrator of Uíge, José Raimundo Teca, appealed to the population to continue collaborating with technicians, so that the largest number of citizens who benefit from civil registration and identity cards can be reached.

The opening of the campaign took place in the Bem Vindo neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Uíge, and was attended by administrative and traditional authorities, justice officials and other guests.

The municipality of Uíge has an estimated population of more than 69 thousand inhabitants.
