Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and 78 kilometers, of a total of 235 km of the Triângulo electrification route, which encompasses the municipalities of Dembos, Bula Atumba, Pango Aluquém and Nambuangongo, in the province of Bengo, have already been demined and certified by the National Action Agency against Minas (ANAM).

The quality control certificate for the completion of the first phase of demining was delivered , in Caxito, to the provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, by the general director of ANAM, Leonardo Severino Sapalo.

Subsequently, the government official gave the certificate to the company Quantum, in charge of implementing the project.

Speaking to the press, the ANAM director said that the document confirms and guarantees the use of the land or access road without major disturbances and without the presence of explosive devices.

The person in charge highlighted the security of the land (considered an area free from explosive devices) and revealed that in this demining process the Angolan government provided financial resources to hire the company that is carrying out the work.

The project director of the company Quantum, Ricardo Fansul, specified that the delivery of the certificate will allow the company’s surveyors to enter the land to begin the survey work (profile).

With this profile, the designers will be able to design the route of the line, at a time when the asset survey personnel have already started deforestation work on the road that connects Mabubas-Úcua, he stressed.

With the delivery of the certificate, a big step is taken in the implementation of the electrification project in the province of Bengo, said governor Maria Antónia Nelumba.

“We are sure that the land is free of mines so that the Quantum company can work without any problems and with the guarantee of completing the project within the right deadline”, he highlighted.

The triangle electrification project includes several 60 kilovolt lines of approximately 170 kilometers. These lines depart from the towns of Mabubas-Úcua (Dande), Piri and Kibaxe (Dembos) and Nambuangongo, while the 30 kilovolt line will depart from Kibaxe-Bula Atumba and Úcua-Pango Aluquém.

The project, which could create another 150 to 170 jobs, is budgeted at 84 million Euros and will be implemented over an estimated period of 24 months (two years).
