Africa-Press – Angola. Former Speaker of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, suspended her parliamentary mandate on Thursday, being replaced by Luzia Inglês, according to the order of the MPLA electoral list.
The request for suspension was approved with 181 votes in favor, none against and no abstentions, during the 6th Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the 4th Legislative Session of the parliament.
Her replacement follows the legal norms and the regulations in force in the Angolan Parliament, and her successor is part of the Family, Childhood and Social Action Committee and the National Monitoring Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The change occurs two months after Adão de Almeida was elected Speaker of Parliament, replacing Carolina Cerqueira.
