Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Cuanza Norte, Pedro Makita Júlia, asked, this Tuesday, in Ndalatando, from the militants more effort and dedication in fulfilling the missions that the party has outlined.
The also governor of Cuanza Norte, who was speaking at the end-of-year greetings ceremony, saluted everyone’s commitment and dedication throughout the year that is about to end in the materialization of the actions guided by the president of the MPLA to satisfy the basic needs of the population.
He appealed, however, to continue to work hard and in a united way to develop concrete actions that aim to respond to the main problems that afflict the populations and gain the trust of the citizens.
He also expressed appreciation for the party-political work carried out by the militants, which made the party win the electoral process of 24 August in the province.
“It is this dedication that we will continue to provide to the party and the country, so that the MPLA continues the triumphal march towards victories in future elections”, underlined the politician.
He also asked for the union and cohesion of the militants to go down to the bases, aiming at revitalizing the party and its social organizations (JMPLA and OMA) so that it can gain more vigor and dynamism in fulfilling the party’s missions.
In the general elections of 24 August, the MPLA obtained 60, 7 percent of the votes in Cuanza Norte, having managed to elect three deputies for that provincial constituency, out of the five expected parliamentarians.
Data from the Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE) indicate that 249,717 voters voted in Cuanza Norte, in a contest disputed by seven political parties, namely MPLA, UNITA, PRS, FNLA, APN, PHA, P-NJANGO and the CASA-CE coalition.
