Africa-Press – Angola. The Political Bureau of the MPLA Central Committee condemned, this Monday, the acts of vandalism recorded in various parts of the province of Luanda, which resulted in significant material damage and compromised public order and tranquility.
In a public statement, this body considered that such acts undermine the values of peace, national unity and reconciliation, achieved over the last few years through the efforts of all Angolans.
According to the document, the acts in question affected the assets of the State, families and companies, constituting a serious obstacle to the stability and well-being of the population.
The MPLA denounced that such actions deliberately aim to disrupt the atmosphere of celebration of the 50th anniversary of National Independence, a historic milestone of pride, unity and sovereignty of the Angolan people.
The party reinforced its commitment to consolidating peace and development, reaffirming that violence and vandalism are not among the values that guide its political action nor do they represent the spirit of the Angolan people.
The Political Bureau called on Angolan youth to remain vigilant and not allow themselves to be manipulated by groups or individuals who encourage instability.
He urged young people to adopt a civic, responsible stance that promotes an increasingly strong, fair, and inclusive Angola.
In the same statement, the MPLA called on the competent authorities to intensify investigations and hold accountable those responsible for these acts, ensuring swift and effective justice.
Finally, the Political Bureau appealed to the Angolan people to maintain serenity, unity, and commitment to building a more prosperous, supportive, and peaceful country, where the rights of all are respected.
