MPLA counts on churches in the search for solutions to social problems

Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of the MPLA’s Political Bureau for Organization and Insertion in Society, Gonçalves Muandumba, stated, Friday, in Cabinda, that the party will continue to count on the church’s contribution in the search for solutions to resolve social problems.

Speaking to the press, after a meeting with the bishop of the Diocese of Cabinda, Dom Belmiro Tchissenguethi, Gonçalves Muandumba said that the meeting served to address the main social problems affecting the population, as well as possible solutions for their resolution.

According to Gonçalves Muandumba, the prelate requested greater commitment from the government in improving health services, water, education, access roads, especially those connecting the interior regions of the province of Cabinda.

He said that Dom Belmiro Tchissenguethi asked the authorities to work on reducing the prices of basic food products, aiming to increase the salaries of public servants, in addition to effective border control.

“We were also encouraged to fulfill electoral promises, as well as the party’s political manifesto for 2024,” he added.

As part of his four-day working visit to Cabinda, which ended on Friday, Gonçalves Muandumba maintained contacts with executive committees, party leaders and officials, civil society, religious entities and visited action committees in the municipalities of Belize and Buco Zau.
