Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA decided to create a Department of Information and Communication Technologies, which will do all the work on the party’s database.

The creation of the said department was approved this Friday at a meeting of the Political Bureau, chaired by the President of the ruling party in Angola, João Lourenço.

According to Rui Falcão, secretary for Information and Propaganda of the MPLA, when the new department is in operation it will “provide another level of intervention”.

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Rui Falcão informed that the session also approved the activity and financial reports for the year 2022.

Among other documents, the MPLA Political Bureau meeting also approved yesterday the party’s cadre strategy.

He added that the documents approved in the session this Friday will be submitted for approval by the Central Committee, during the month of April.

The leader referred, on the occasion, that the MPLA Political Bureau meeting endorsed the candidacies to replace the second secretary of that party in Benguela.

“What we did was approve the candidacies”, he clarified, adding that the “Provincial Committee submitted two candidacies to the Political Bureau. They were validated. It is now up to the Provincial Committee to elect”.

The Political Bureau is a permanent governing body of the MPLA that deliberates between meetings of the Central Committee and deals with occasional adjustments to the party’s strategies.
