Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA vice-president, recognizing the quality of young people, asked, yesterday, in Menongue, for their active participation in the country’s development process, contributing with creative and innovative ideas.

Luísa Damião, who presided over the anticipated central act of the 60th anniversary of JMPLA, said that there are major challenges in the context of the country’s development, which require the contribution of youth, where they must put their talent and knowledge into action in favor of social transformations. and cultural.

The vice-president of the MPLA referred that the world and the country, in particular, have registered the growing strength of young people, eager to see the construction of a society of peace, progress and modernity, which makes their dreams come true, materializing, among other rights, health, education, housing, security, job creation, in addition to specific actions such as the fight against child labour, protection against teenage pregnancy and professional qualification.

“The government program, endorsed in the elections, reserves very special attention for young people, taking into account the concern of the Executive, led by President João Lourenço, about the need to take better care of youth”, stressed the vice president of the MPLA.

“The strength of a nation lies in its youth, and, in this sense, we must continue to encourage young people to prepare themselves to assume their role, through academic, technical and professional training and in the active construction of their future”, he highlighted, adding that any change in the economic, social and political development of this rich country depends on the active participation of youth.

Luísa Damião guaranteed that the MPLA is aware of the challenges faced by young people and is doing everything to find the best ways and solutions to solve the countless problems and concerns that still afflict the Angolan people, especially the youth.

For the vice-president of the MPLA, when celebrating the 60th anniversary of the JMPLA, the main youth organization in Angola, the party, faced with this amalgamation of young people determined and committed to the country, reaffirms its commitment to continue to advocate for the causes and yearnings of young Angolans.

According to Luísa Damião, the yearnings and aspirations go through the continuous search for quality, diversified and professional training, more opportunities for employment and self-employment, satisfaction of housing needs, development of their artistic and cultural talents, better conditions for traveling from one point to the other, more expression and political and social representation, among others.

Luísa Damião also mentioned that when celebrating the 60th university anniversary of its foundation, JMPLA as a political youth organization of the party is obliged to reflect deeply on criticism and self-criticism, in view of the fulfillment of its social role.

He stated that the JMPLA is an organization with maturity and experience, whose trajectory deserved the direct contribution of many of the best sons of the party, assuming itself as a true political school for different generations of MPLA leaders and staff.

“The social excellence and patriotic elevation of its members must constitute the cultural norm of the organization’s practice”, he said, adding that the added responsibility of JMPLA is due not only to being the mature and historic organization that it is, but above all because it rests upon himself the mission of interpreting the polysemy of the real desires of the majority of the Angolan population, the youth.

Luísa Damião said from an early age that she realized that young people are important social galvanizing agents with more and more power to influence people, which is why she knows that she must continue to rely on talent, energy and skills in the search for better solutions for population problems.
