Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA Secretariat in Cuima commune, Caála municipality, Huambo province, implemented a broad political program a few days ago focused on promoting healthy party coexistence, with a view to the socio-economic development of communities.

The first secretary of the MPLA in Cuima, Henrique Silveiro Catombela, said that the initiative aims to promote understanding, between political party formations, in the perspective of consolidating democracy and harmonious development .

He said it was an exercise also aimed at combating “possible cases of political intolerance” in the communities, with appeals for the involvement of the population in defining sustainable projects without disagreements.

With these actions, he added, the MPLA in the Cuima commune wants to contribute to the consolidation of democracy, encourage militants to respect opposing opinions and reinforce basic structures, for the permanent growth of the party.

“Due to the maturity of the MPLA, it is important that the militants know, properly, the party’s guidelines on the promotion of peace, development and social coexistence in the party difference, to avoid any case of political-party intolerance”, he stressed.

In the municipality of Caála, one of the 11 that make up the province of Huambo, the MPLA won the five electoral campaigns in the country’s history, namely 1992, 2008, 2012, 2017 and August 24, 2022.
