Africa-Press – Angola. The municipal secretary of the MPLA in Caála, Huambo province, Beatriz Gervásio, said today, Friday, that her party will reinforce the inspection of works of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), in the municipality.

Speaking at a meeting with the militants, the party official explained that with the strengthening of inspections, the MPLA intends to demand compliance with contractual deadlines and the quality of ongoing actions in the locality.

He added that this measure, which will focus essentially on social infrastructure construction projects, aims to guarantee the effectiveness of the government’s programme, with a view to promoting the socio-economic development of the municipality and the improvement of the population’s living conditions.

The party secretary of the Caála comrades said, on the occasion, that in addition to the PIIM projects, other actions to be carried out by the local Administration, related to the development of the municipality, will also be supervised.

Among them, he highlighted the expansion of electricity, drinking water, agriculture, improvement of secondary and tertiary roads, housing and other social sectors.

In the municipality of Caála, 33 projects are registered under the PIIM, a Government project approved in 2019, of which 17 are public investment and 16 are acquisitions of various goods and services, 26 of which have already been completed.

Among those completed, the resealing of 8.5 kilometers of road stands out, two in the municipal seat, three in the communal village of Calenga, two in Cuima and one kilometer in Catata.

Also included in this list are the construction of health centers in the municipalities of Catata, Cuima and Calenga, the expansion and improvement of the access road to the municipal cemetery, as well as the acquisition of basic sanitation facilities and generator sets for electrical production.

Since the end of last year, at the municipal headquarters, resealing works have been under way on another 8.5 kilometers of roads, two school units (one with five classrooms and the other with 12 classes), a sports court and the palace of the administrator.

This year, the PIIM registered the insertion of three new projects that were being executed, since 2014, under the Public Investment Programme.

It deals with two police stations in the communes of Cuima and Calenga, as well as the future installations of the Administration of the Commune of Calenga.

In the political field, Beatriz Gervásio made it known that the MPLA will intensify follow-up visits to the Action committees, update the militants’ statistical data, boost the party’s growth, political-ideological training and the reinforcement of ethical values ​​within the militants for a peaceful coexistence in the communities of this municipality.
