Africa-Press – Angola. The commitment of the MPLA president, João Lourenço, to the country’s stability and socio-economic development policies was highlighted this Saturday, in the city of Uíge, by the party’s first secretary in the region, José Carvalho da Rocha.
At the end of the march in support of President João Lourenço, the politician justified that this commitment allowed the implementation of several socio-economic projects in the country.
As an example, he mentioned that the province of Uíge benefited from several schools, hospitals, water supply systems for the population and other ongoing investments in the country.
José Carvalho da Rocha also highlighted, among other advances, the resumption of construction work on the Youth House, the Uíge Media Library, the Quilomosso football stadium and the new Uíge General Hospital.
In turn, the MPLA’s first municipal secretary in Uíge, Maria Fernando Cavungo, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening the social base, in order to respond to the political challenges that lie ahead.
The march brought together hundreds of MPLA activists, friends and supporters, who walked through several streets in the province’s capital. The activity culminated with the performance of several local musicians.
