MPLA mourns the death of Amélia Quintas

Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA this Saturday expressed dismay at the death of Amélia Calumbo Quintas, former provincial secretary of the OMA in Bié and member of the Political Bureau, which occurred yesterday, in Luanda, due to illness.

It was with a deep sense of consternation that the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the MPLA learned of the death of the also former deputy to the National Assembly for the Bié cycle, reads the note distributed to press.

The MPLA refers to the deceased as a convinced and committed militant, who held the position of Provincial Secretary of the OMA of Bié with a sense of zeal and commitment to party causes, reasons that made her much admired among her supporters.

For this reason, it recognizes that the death of Amélia Calumbo Quintas represents the loss of a militant of unavoidable reference in the history of OMA and the Party, at provincial and national level.

He also highlights “the unique quality of strong leadership and aggregating tendency” of the deceased.

For the unfortunate event, the Political Bureau of the MPLA bows before the memory of the deceased and addresses the bereaved family, the most heartfelt condolences.
