MPLA Politburo Assesses Party'S Internal Affairs

Africa-Press – Angola. The Political Bureau of the ruling MPLA party met on Thursday (23), in Luanda for its 4th regular session, under the leadership of the party’s President, João Lourenço, to assess issues linked to the organization’s internal affairs and the country’s socioeconomic situation.

The meeting took place at the Futungo II Complex and included political, economic, and social topics on the agenda, with emphasis on assessing compliance with the guidelines issued at the last meeting, held last June.

At the last meeting, this body reviewed and approved the information from the Political Bureau Secretariat on the activities carried out during the first 4-month period of the current year.

It also approved the opinion on the Proposal to Fill the Position of Director of the Department for Economic and Social Policy, with a view to shaping the structure, as well as the Joint Opinion of the Department of Staff Policy and the Department of Organization, Mobilization, Social Organizations, and Civil Society, on the proposed candidate for the position of 2nd Provincial Secretary of the MPLA in the province of Cuanza-Norte.

On the same occasion, as part of the implementation and adjustment of the MPLA’s structures in light of the new political-administrative division, the Political Bureau approved the proposed candidates for the positions of 1st JMPLA’s Provincial Secretaries in the provinces of Cuango, Cubango, Moxico, Moxico-Leste, Namibe, Luanda, and Icolo & Bengo.

It also reviewed detailed information on the status of preparations for the 8th Congress of OMA, the party’s female wing.
