Africa-Press – Angola. The Political Bureau of the MPLA Central Committee, Friday, in Luanda, in its second ordinary session, analyzed the draft program for revitalizing the manufacturing industry sector in Angola.
Under the guidance of the President of the MPLA, João Lourenço, the meeting approved the project for revitalizing the national industry, its challenges and opportunities.
According to the final communiqué of the meeting, the document will be submitted for debate at the eighth ordinary session of the MPLA Central Committee, to be held next Monday (31), in Luanda.
About the revitalization of industry
The Angolan Government has outlined several strategies to revitalize the manufacturing industry sector, recognizing its importance in diversifying the economy and reducing dependence on oil.The National Development Plan 2023-2027 (PDN 2023-2027) highlights the need to accelerate the sustainable socioeconomic impact of public policies, with a focus on developing human capital and raising food security levels.
In addition, the Angola Industrial Development Plan 2025 (PDIA 2025) proposes a structural transformation of the industrial sector through the integrated development of production chains.
This plan identifies four areas of intervention, such as the Improvement of the Legal, Regulatory and Institutional Framework to favor industrial development,
as well as the Development of More Qualified and Productive Human Capital.The Promotion of Infrastructure and Services Suitable for the Industrial Sector and the
Incentive to Investment and Financing to leverage industrial growth are the third and fourth axes, respectively
Internal issues
In the session held this Friday, the Political Bureau assessed the proposed agenda for the eighth ordinary session of the Central Committee and approved the draft regulation for the organization and operation of its economic and social policy department.
The meeting also approved the opinion on the candidacy of militant Justino Camota, for the position of second secretary of the party in the province of Huambo.
The Political Bureau took note of information regarding the process of holding the constituent assemblies of the party’s bodies and organizations within the scope of the new political-administrative division.
At the beginning of the session, a minute’s silence was observed in posthumous tribute to the generals of the Angolan Armed Forces, Alberto Correia Neto and João Luis Neto “Xietu”, both former members of this central leadership body of the MPLA.
