Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA is strengthening its actions aimed at the sustainable development of Lunda-Sul province, focusing on the inclusion and participation of all civil society actors, the party’s second provincial secretary, Octávio Alberto, stated on Monday.
The statement was made in the municipality of Cassengo, during a working visit to more than one hundred Action Committees in the municipalities of Cassengo, Saurimo, and Muangueji, led by the first provincial secretary, Daniel Neto.
The leader emphasized the need for unity, cohesion, and organization among members, reinforcing that they must be examples of civic spirit and responsibility, particularly in preserving public assets and collaborating with the competent authorities.The “Red Sunday” program was highlighted as an initiative that brings the party closer to its grassroots, promoting greater accountability, better statistical reporting, and more effective monitoring of its members.
Among the guidelines conveyed, the importance of internal unity to ensure future electoral victories was highlighted, especially in the municipality of Cassengo, which has become the largest electoral district in the province.
The official also called on party members, friends, and supporters to strengthen their commitment to the national cause as the country prepares to celebrate 50 years of National Independence on November 11th.
During the visits, concerns were raised regarding basic sanitation, road paving, hospital and school improvements, among other projects. It was assured that these issues would receive priority attention, with requests for calm and patience from the residents.
At the closing ceremony, the first provincial secretary, Daniel Neto, presented food, sports equipment, and agricultural supplies to the activists, encouraging the development of subsistence farming and other community activities.The municipality of Cassengo has an area of 6,021.95 square kilometers and an estimated population of 259,306 inhabitants, distributed across 10 neighborhoods and 42 villages.
