Africa-Press – Angola. The second secretary of the MPLA Provincial Committee, Nelo de Carvalho, reiterated on Sunday (10) the need for Angolans to make a commitment to preserving peace and national reconciliation, so that the country continues on the path of development.
Intervening at a militant bonfire, held in reference to the party’s 67th anniversary, the politician highlighted the importance of coexistence in a climate of peace, only then can the population’s intentions be achieved.
Nelo de Carvalho traced the historical path of the MPLA, from its struggle in hiding, through the conquest of independence, peace, unity and national reconciliation, legacies that the organization’s militants must continue to preserve.
On the other hand, he highlighted the need for activists and the population to continue to close ranks around resolving the people’s problems, with everyone’s participation in tasks aimed at the country’s development.
In addition to the militant’s bonfire, December 10th was marked with a football match in the municipality of Calandula and the laying of the first stone for the construction of the Cangandala MPLA Municipal Committee.
The MPLA was founded on December 10, 1956.
