Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA’s first municipal secretary in Cangandala, Dilangue Baião, reiterated, more intervention by militants in favor of defending the party’s interests in social networks.

According to the leader, currently political challenges are also made and with great scope in a virtual way, taking messages about the actions of the party and the Executive, a way of disclosing the facts and clarifying the citizens.

The secretary made this appeal during the 1st municipal seminar on the public campaign for the moralization of society, essentially focused on the fight against corruption in public institutions and the promotion of education among citizens.

Dilangue Baião said that one cannot be impassive and serene in the face of struggles on social networks, therefore, MPLA militants must be up to date, in order to be able to oppose false information about the party and the government, circulated on digital platforms. .

On the other hand, the politician defended the need for commitment by militants, especially public office holders, with the motto according to which “MPLA-work harder and communicate better”, which implies disclosing with truth and humility all acts on social networks and other ways.

The seminar culminated with a dissertation on the themes “Ethics in public administration, the role of churches in moralizing society, the role of schools in combating corruption, the intervention of the media in preventing and combating corruption for good governance and political challenges in the digital age.

When speaking about the political challenges in the digital age, the second secretary of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA, Nelo de Carvalho reiterated that the fight against corruption continues to be the poster of governance, with a view to banishing all the evils that plague the institutions and consequently improving the performance of the civil service.

However, he called attention to social networks, due to the forms of manipulation they offer, as they have been means of speculation and denigration of political opponents, through information and communication technologies (ICT’s).

The objective of the seminar was to make citizens aware of the observance of professional ethics and deontology, as well as to appeal to public managers to ensure strict compliance with legislation, regulations, decrees, the law and all governing documents of State administration.

Militants from the MPLA, JMPLA and OMA participated in it, as well as public managers and citizens from other social strata.
