Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, pointed out this Thursday, in Luanda, unity, discipline, commitment, patriotic sense and work as fundamental factors for overcoming the different obstacles.

The official was speaking at the greeting ceremony at the beginning of the year, held at the MPLA headquarters, where she exhorted the party’s cadres and militants to continue working together for the aggrandizement of the MPLA, through increased love, dedication, resilience and responsibility towards the causes of the ruling party.

“No matter the adversities of the context, if there is unity, discipline, commitment, a patriotic sense and work within us, there will be no insurmountable obstacles. It will always be possible for us to achieve our goals”, she said.

The person in charge requested a spirit of strengthening unity, raising professionalism and dedication, to strengthen the “ÉME brand”.

In her speech, Luísa Damião recalled that the year 2022 was, undeniably, quite challenging, with great achievements, victories and lessons for all, as a political party organization, having highlighted the holding of the general elections and the victory of the MPLA, in August , as the most politically relevant facts in Angola.

“It was an exercise that required greater dedication, commitment and resilience from our party’s structures, but, above all, commitment and a sense of mission in the face of the great challenges that the electoral environment demanded”, he stressed.

For the leader, the social phenomena inherent to the world situation, whose political, economic and social impact are also felt on a global scale, had a direct influence on the electoral perception in Angola and, consequently, on the results of the election.

In this regard, the vice-president recommended that the plans and programs approved by the Party’s Board be carried out with the rigor required, taking into account effectiveness, efficiency and effectiveness, within the framework of the political challenges posed to the party.

According to Luísa Damião, the MPLA is a party that builds its victories in anticipation, but these have a greater expression with the result of government action and, “therefore, we have the responsibility of ensuring that the electoral promises made in the general elections, enter for the public agenda and, therefore, be the source for the design of public and social policies”.

He said that the party has an obligation to support the Executive in the implementation of the Government Programme, noting that the social challenges are, more evident and cannot be ignored.

In her speech, the party defended the need to reinforce the MPLA’s insertion in Angolan society, especially among the younger electorate, a task that should continue to deserve special attention from all cadres and militants.

“It is advisable to recognize that one of the perennial challenges that the party faces is the evident need to respond to the desires of our sons and daughters”, emphasized the leader, for whom “it is the young people and women, with whom we must always establish a relationship. relationship not only vertical, but above all horizontal”.

On the occasion, the vice-president congratulated the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA) on its 61st anniversary, celebrated on the 10th of the current month, reiterating that it was a trajectory deeply marked by the defense of noble causes, with tenacity and camaraderie, whose results are , among others, the emancipation of Angolan women.
