MPLA wants commitment from militants to improve the population’s conditions

Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy coordinator of the monitoring group of the MPLA Political Bureau for the province of Cuanza Norte, Fernando Muquepe, asked the activists for commitment, rigor and professionalism to maintain the country’s stability and improve the population’s living conditions.

Fernando Muquepe stated that the party faces several political, social and economic challenges in which members must commit themselves with rigor, dedication and professionalism to overcome them.

The militants, he added, under the guidance of the party’s central leadership must join synergies and join ranks around the leadership of the party’s President, João Lourenço, for the well-being of families.

For this challenge, Fernando Muquepe asked the activists to always keep in mind the slogan of the founder of the Nation, António Agostinho Neto, “the most important thing is to solve the people’s problem”.

The politician, who was speaking at the close of the IV ordinary meeting of the MPLA Provincial Committee in Cuanza Norte, recommended that the implementation of the activities and events plan for 2024 must be collective and participatory, relying on a broad combination of efforts, always aiming to improve the insertion of the party in society.

He highlighted the holding of assemblies of the party’s base organizations (“Cap” action committees) and municipal, communal and district conferences and the organic process of the JMPLA.

Fernando Muquepe advised that when choosing the leaders of the action committees, one should always continue to focus on active militants, committed to the MPLA cause, combative and with integrity.

He highlighted the role of OMA and JMPLA in intensifying campaigns to raise awareness and mobilize women and youth for the MPLA cause, as well as for the economic development of the country and the province of Cuanza Norte, in particular.

In the event, led by the party’s first secretary in the province, Pedro Makita Júlia, 108 of the 175 members of the MPLA Provincial Committee participated.

The report on activities carried out from January to December of the current year by the party and the Ethical Discipline and Audit Committee, as well as the plan of activities and events for the year 2024, were discussed and approved.

The focus was also on the social and economic situation of the province and filling the vacancies of five members of the Provincial Committee who perished.

At the opening of the conclave, the first secretary of the MPLA in Cuanza Norte, Pedro Makita, requested the members’ boldness and cohesion so that the party continues to achieve victories in the next electoral commitments.
