Africa-Press – Angola. The second municipal secretary of the MPLA in Soyo, Álvaro Estêvão Kuala, asked this Tuesday, in this city, for exemplary and dynamic activists to be elected, during the process of review and renewal of mandates at the level of the Party’s Action Committees (CAPs).
When intervening in the launch of the process of review assemblies and renewal of mandates for CAPs and review conferences at the level of communal and municipal committees, the person responsible urged to avoid the election of activists with little acceptance in the communities, for reasons diverse.
He recalled as requirements for candidates for presidents of the Party Action Committees (CAPs), the full enjoyment of political rights and knowledge of the party’s programs and statutes, as well as the ability to communicate with the population.
Knowing the reality and the political and social aspirations of the communities where the activist is located is another requirement, including the ability to execute the planned programs and political-electoral mobilization.
He stressed that the MPLA will become stronger if it continues to energize the militant base and mobilize more citizens to join the ruling party in Angola.
He called for during the process of review assemblies and renewal of mandates, party activists in the municipality, at all levels, to be present in the respective Party Action Committees.
Álvaro Estêvão Kuala, who represented the MPLA’s first municipal secretary, José Mendes Belo, at this event, considered the process launched to be of great significance, stressing that it will allow the sharing of the party’s main actions and guidelines.
Balancing and considering the new actions that will lead the MPLA in Soyo to overcome future political and electoral challenges also constitutes, according to the politician, one of the objectives of this engagement, which he considered to contribute to strengthening the party’s internal democracy.
Participating in the event were members of the Secretariat and the Executive Committee of the MPLA Municipal Committee, as well as residents of the Provincial Committee, leaders of the CAPs, coordinators of the OMA Sections and the JMPLA Nuclei.
