Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA, as a party that supports the government, will, in the coming days, advocate for those responsible for supervising the works of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), greater dynamism for its completion.
The statement was made by the secretary of the MPLA political bureau for social policy, Maricel Capama, made at the end of a visit to verify, help and control the works of the PIIM and the fight against poverty, in the municipality of Icolo and Bengo.
The political party activist’s field trip began in the urban district of Catete, at the T14 school project, which began in 2020, which was expected to be completed in 12 months but is almost at a standstill.
Maricel Capama also noted the Banza Quitel health center, under construction since 2020, in the commune of Cabiri, with work halted due to lack of money, according to the contractor.
In this regard, the secretary of the political bureau clarified that the stoppage of works is due to the contractors’ non-compliance, since financial execution is above physical execution.
For this reason, “as a party that supports the government, we will advocate with the ministries that have the mission of monitoring, monitoring, so that the works can continue and be completed in the coming months”, he asserted.
The visit is part of the MPLA’s journey of aid, control and observation visits to PIIM works and the fight against poverty.
The municipality has five schools under construction, within the scope of PIIM, all started in 2020, in the locations of Kassoneca, Cabiri, Catete and Bela Vista, which have been closed until now.
At the Catete Municipal Hospital, Maricel Capama donated medication kits, disinfectants, masks, serums, hospital gowns and other goods to reinforce the unit’s stock.
