Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, defended, in Luena, the need for greater rigor and supervision in the exploitation of wood in the region, with a view to having positive effects on the life of the population.
The province of Moxico has a forest area of 700,000 hectares suitable for the exploitation of various species of wood, with emphasis on Mussivi, Muvuca, Mucula and Mutete, Kakulakula, which have been exported to the European and Asian continents.
The leader, who was speaking during a meeting with members of the provincial committee that aimed to announce the guidelines that will lead the party this year, said that this problem will be solved with the construction of a warehouse for forestry products in the province, foreseen in the General Budget. of the State of 2023.
Regarding agricultural production, the politician highlighted the implementation of the “Planagrão” program designed by the Executive, which foresees the large-scale production of wheat, rice, soybeans and corn in the provinces of the eastern region of the country (Moxico, Lunda Sul and Lunda Norte). ).
Ernesto Muangala reiterated that the MPLA will continue to engage in monitoring the implementation of programs aimed at the economic and social development of the province in order to fulfill the electoral promises foreseen in the five-year period 2023/2027.
“We need to bring comfort and dignity to the poorest and most disadvantaged families, especially those in rural areas”, he said.
He appealed, on the other hand, for the involvement of MPLA militants in the implementation of programs for the fulfillment of the party’s aspirations in the current political year.
